Angus MP Mike Weir visited Angus Training Group recently to learn more about the workings of the organisation and to meet the apprentices working at the organisation.
Angus Training Group works with employers throughout Angus, including some from firms in Forfar, and further afield to train apprentices in engineering disciplines.
Mr Weir was shown around the facility by director Alan Swankie.
Mr Swankie explained how the organisation works and the different types of work that are done, from traditional machining to computer-aided design, to give the apprentices a secure grounding to their careers.
Commenting on his visit Mr Weir said: “I was very impressed by the facilities at Angus Training Group and the obvious dedication of the directors and staff to provide very high quality training for apprentices.
“It speaks highly of the group and the high quality of the training that they provide that they attract apprentices not only from Angus but also from areas such as Aberdeen.
“Developing and maintaining high quality manufacturing industries is essential for the future of the Scottish economy and the group play and important part in this work.”
