Lippen Care recently hosted a sell-out Ladies Lunch at Forfar Golf Club.
Following lunch, a presentation on Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance was given by James Gray-Cheape, a local ambassador for the charity.
James gave a detailed and fascinating insight into the brief history of this recently established charity, which came into existence to fill a gap in the provision of a rapid response emergency service. Based at Scone, the fully crewed and equipped SCAA helicopter responds to an average of one call-out per day, covering most of mainland Scotland.
As its name suggests, SCAA is funded entirely by charitable donations, so ambassadors like James do sterling work in promoting the charity. This was a very successful event from Lippen Care’s point of view, with many echoes of the hospice charity‘s own efforts, but on a larger scale. A generous raffle rounded off proceedings and, after expenses, a sum in excess of £500 was raised for Lippen Care. Thanks go to everyone who contributed to a most enjoyable afternoon.
