It has been another varied week in the Dispatch and Herald office, which we hope is reflected in this week’s edition.

Angus Council has revealed proposals to make use of the former Chapelpark Primary School building in Forfar, which has lain empty for the last six years; a local developer has made assurances that a well-used right of way outside Forfar will be maintained if a proposed housing development goes ahead at Gowanbank; performance group Rising Youngstars are the lucky recipients of this month’s Roof Truss award and school pupils in Kirrie have been learning about the health benefits of seafood, as well as finding out where it comes from.

Members of the Forfar army cadets also celebrated their achievements recently at their annual prize presentation, while Angus MP Mike Weir dropped in to the Angus Training Group to find out more about the work of local apprentices.

There’s full coverage of Monday night’s match between Forfar Athletic and Rangers at Station Park as well as a round-up of action in local sports clubs and we also the latest cinema and DVD releases, as well as theatre productions, in our popular entertainment supplement The Guide.
