Have your say about policing

TAYSIDE Police launched a consultation on its draft interim Local Policing Plans for 2013 and 2014 on Monday.

The force wants community feedback on the priorities set out in the plans.

The draft interim Local Policing Plans for 2013 and 2014 has set out the local policing priorities and objectives for the three local authority areas across Tayside. They are produced as part of a planning process which takes account of the Scottish Government’s over arching vision for public services, The Local Policing Plans represent a critical part of the delivery process for the new service.

They focus on two key themes, Public Protection: creating safer communities and Community Policing: responding to local concerns.

The plans concentrate on addressing high priority issues set by taking account of a range of information sources and reflect nationally set priorities and crime analysis. More critically, by consulting with local communities and partner agencies, they ensure that the priorities are focused on policing local communities across Tayside.

The Local Policing Plans will be supported by Multi Member Ward Level Community Policing Plans and as crucial part of the planning process Tayside Police is keen to engage with the public, partners and staff in order to gather their views.

The draft interim Local Policing Plans 2013-14 are available on the Tayside Police website and also on each of the Local Authority websites.

There are a number of ways you can provide your views on your respective Local Authority Policing Plan. You can complete the on-line survey, request a paper copy of the survey by calling the Performance and Planning Unit on 01382 596712, e-mail comments to mail@tayside.pnn.police.uk, write to Tayside Police, FREEPOST, TY310, PO Box 59, Dundee, DD1 9JU or follow the consultation on Twitter and Facebook.

The period of consultation closes on Monday, February 18.
