Camping for members of the Forfar Girl Guides just got a whole lot better, thanks to the latest £250 sponsorship cheque from the Forfar Roof Truss Company.

The Guides need to replace mats used for sleepovers and camping - and the cheque will help towards their purchase.

Marlene Millar, treasurer of the Forfar Guide Centre management committee said: “We have over 100 girls aged from five to 16.

“They have a camp at Ladenford twice a year, and they also do lots of indoor activities for their badges.

“The girls have lots of fun and get great enjoyment from the work they do at Rainbows, Brownies and Guides.

“The grant would be a great help to the unit and the girls”.

The Forfar Roof Truss Company Limited, in conjunction with the Forfar Dispatch and Kirriemuir Herald, donates a sponsorship cheque for £250 every month.

If you feel you or your organisation could benefit from the financial boost, then apply in writing to “Forfar Roof Truss Company Sponsorship Project”, c/o Angus County Press Limited, 117 - 119 Castle Street, Forfar, DD8 3AH, by the last day of any given month.

Accompanying your application should be details (no more than 300 words), providing relevant information on you or the group and how the £250 could be used. Please ensure you provide a contact telephone number.
