Members of the Forfar Association for Continuing Education have received a £300 cheque from Angus Council to help provide evening classes.

They were presented with the cheque by Pam Mackie, Community Learning & Development, on behalf of the council.

F.A.C.E. chairperson Margaret Valentine said: “Our committee members are very grateful to Angus Council for its continued support.

“The classes have been a great success over the last few weeks. The first session of evening classes has finished but will resume on January 6, 2014 for a further 10 weeks.

“There are still a few places available in the Tuesday art class and any newcomers would be more than welcome to join.”

Margaret added: “We also have a new eight-week class starting called ‘Holistic Health for Stress Management and Well-Being’.

“This is planned to run from January 21 and will be delivered by Julie Bell of Spirit Level in Forfar.

“Julie is an experienced and qualified holistic healer and an experienced practitioner of aromatherapy and reflexology, to name but a few.

“These and other healing therapies will be fully covered in her classes.”

Over the course of these practical classes, students will find out more about simple, natural and holistic health care for them and their families, for ongoing health and well-being including tips and techniques to help you cope with common symptoms in a safe way.

Julie is also a Reiki master/teacher, clinical hypnotherapist, Advanced NLP and EFT Practitioner, motivation coach, aromatherapist, reflexologist and stone and Indian head massage therapist.

Margaret continued: “Like all our classes we need sufficient numbers to make the new course viable so I would encourage anyone interested to contact me as soon as possible on 01307 466325 or email forfarface@outlook.com”

Commenting on her new class Julie said: “This is a really hands-on course.

“Participants will practice meditation, gentle massage for themselves, using some beautiful essential oils and some simple breathing techniques to help cope with stress and maintain calm in what is a hectic world.

“They will be introduced to Reiki and reflexology too, as well as some guided visualisations and tapping techniques for stress and anxiety.”
