Community event to round off relay

Angus is gearing up to welcome the Queen’s Baton Relay this Saturday and as part of the celebration, Angus Council has announced an end of day community celebration at the Montrose Sports Centre playing fields.

The event will start at 1 p.m. with ‘It’s a Commonwealth Knockout’ run by the Montrose Emergency Services Group. Also available for everyone to try will be sports activities, music and dance taster events, a bouncy castle, A Taste of Angus cooking demonstrations and lots of local community stalls. Into early evening, there will be entertainment on the main stage from 4 - 7.30 p.m. including live music from Fubar, Peyton Place and Gleadhraich as well as from Delma Wilson’s School of Dancing and Montrose Academy’s Rock Challenge.
