Amateur photographers are being urged to take part in a new competition launched in support of the Commonwealth Games.
The competition, ‘Capture the Spirit of Angus’, is an opportunity for the people of Angus to create a local cultural and historical legacy to celebrate the Commonwealth Games 2014 and to showcase Angus to the rest of the world.
Entrants are invited to take photographs of the nature, heritage, arts, industry, people, places and pastimes in the county. Entry is open to all amateur photographers, in the adult and junior categories.
Finalists will be invited to an exhibition of the photographs in Brechin Town House Museum Gallery where the winners will be announced. This exhibition will then go on a tour of Angus throughout 2015 after which time entries will be retained in the Angus Photographic Collection held within Angus Archives.
The prizes are: adult first prize - dinner, bed and breakfast for two at the Glen Clova Hotel; 2, dinner for two at the But ‘n’ Ben Restaurant.
