Armed Forces veterans from Angus and Tayside have been invited to apply for a five-day free course that aims to equip them with the skills they need to find work.

LifeWorks will take place in Stirling from September 8-12 and is co-ordinated by veterans’ charity Poppyscotland.

It aims to provide veterans with advice, guidance, insight and the skills required to find sustainable employment.

It is open to veterans who are either living with health conditions that prevent them finding work or who have experienced recurring barriers to finding satisfactory employment for some time.

A course in May proved highly successful with 10 veterans from all over Scotland travelling to Stirling to take part and Poppyscotland is pleased to bring it back in partnership with Royal British Legion Industries.

The course is free and all travel expenses will be covered.

LifeWorks was first introduced north of the Border in 2013 and works with individuals to match employment options with existing skills and mindset to achieve the best outcome for that person.

Those interested in taking part in LifeWorks should contact Dot Pringle at Poppyscotland on 0131 550 1568 or email d.pringle@poppyscotland.org.uk
