A FORFAR hairdresser is hoping to cut it in local politics.
Ian McLaren is standing in Forfar and District ward in the forthcoming Angus Council elections.
He is one of three independents contesting the seat.
Ian has lived and worked in the Forfar area all his life, as did his parents and grandparents.
He was educated at Forfar East School and Forfar Academy.
He and his wife May have worked in the hairdressing business, serving the community for over 40 years.
“I have, over the years, gained an understanding of the concerns, problems and needs of the local people,” he explains.
Ian would like to remove politics from local government, support existing and new businesses, encourage the provision of housing developments, support leisure and sporting facilities and maintain Forfar’s culture and heritage.
He is keen to work alongside the community to make the right decisions.
