The next exhibition at The Meffan in Forfar is entitled Reflections of India.
The exhibition by Glasgow based artist Emma Waine, features work inspired by a trip to India.
Her deeply layered and complex work is a record of shape, form, pattern and emotions experienced within an environment, resulting in a ‘visual map’ of her encounters.
Of her journey she said: “I experienced the sublime and the savage and felt the agony and the ecstasy of such an incredible country, at times so diverse from my own. Visually, I was struck by the astonishing colours, architecture, textures and patterns.
“I also encountered wonderful warmth from the people and often felt extreme emotions when witnessing this against the backdrop of acute poverty.”
The exhibition runs from Saturday, October 15 and runs until Saturday, November 12, admission free.
