With summer rapidly receding into distant memory attention is now turning to autumn events in the local community.
And with that in mind the Kirriemuir and District Round Table is once more planning for its Bonfire and Firework Display.
This year the event takes place on Saturday, November 2.
And to make the event extra special, as well as the bonfire and accompanying fireworks spectators will also be able to enjoy live music from local bands.
Kirriemuir Scout Group will also be helping out serving soup, hot dogs and other light refreshments.
The annual Bonfire and Firework display is only made possible by Round Table fund-raising through the year.
The event is also generously supported by local businesses who contribute firewood and fencing.
The event is one of the few local, independently financed and run, bonfires and displays left in a town of Kirriemuir’s size.
A spokesman for the group said: “Being independent means the event needs community support.
“Of course, we need your money to help pay for the fireworks and donations are collected on entry.
“But, importantly, help is also required in the form of boots on the ground helping with the setting up and with the marshalling of the event.
“Can you help?
“Seeing so many people enjoying an event that you have had a part in is very rewarding, so come and support us.”
