Maxim’s flavour, Dracscream, impressed judges so much he has been selected as one of 10 finalists.

He has also been invited on an all expenses paid trip to Sainsbury’s Head offices in London along with the other finalists where the winner will be announced.

Tammy Sanders, Sainsbury’s store manager in Dundee said: “We’re really pleased that Maxim has made got this far in the competition. I’ve got a feeling that his Dracscream recipe will be a hard one to beat.

“The fun bit is that if he is chosen as a winner he will actually get to see his ice-cream made and sold on shelves of Sainsbury’s stores nationwide.”
