YOUNG members of the Sunshine Playschool will be able to follow in the footsteps of their Olympic heroes - thanks to the October £250 sponsorship cheque from the Forfar Roof Truss Company.

The Kirriemuir Playschool is the latest recipient of the monthly award from the Forfar business - and they plan to put it to good use to get sporty.

Ruth Nelson, playschool fund-raiser, said: “The children have taken a keen interest in the Olympics this year and with the Commonwealth Games being held in Scotland in 2014, we are keen to keep the children’s interest alive and “inspire a generation!

“We are hoping to organise a programme of sporting events at the playschool and include the wider community, perhaps inviting children from the schools to take part.

“We would love to be able to invite some trainers in who could give the children some professional training; we are hoping to invite someone from Jazzercise, a cheer-leading group and also if we got funding provide the children with new sporting equipment, such as infant gym benches and or basketball trainer.”

If you or your group or organisation would like to be considered for the November £250, then contact us. See further details on page 27.
