Injured in fall

A MAN was taken to hospital on Thursday after falling from a ladder while working on a house in Friockheim.

The 58-year-old joiner suffered head and shoulder injuries in the accident at Little Kinnell, outside the village, while working on the construction of a new home.

Ninewells Hospital’s trauma team was called to the incident, which occurred just before 11 a.m.

The injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Tayside Fire and Rescue helped ambulance staff move the man from the building’s first floor.

Graeme Nicol, station manager with Tayside Fire and Rescue, said: “The man slipped while working on a ladder, causing him to fall and hurt himself quite badly.

“He only fell a couple of feet but landed awkwardly.”
