How many times have you heard someone complain about Angus Council not doing the best for their town?

It is easy to find someone who has something bad to say about the council but of those who do complain how many of them turned up at the last election and selected their preferred candidates? And for those who did vote how many of them put careful thought into who they want as a councillor?

It is easy to turn up, tick a box, and go home again without really knowing anything about who you are voting for, or what policies that candidate might have.

For those of you who do not turn up on May 3 to cast your vote, that is fine, but please do not complain if nothing that you want achieved in your town is done or what happens in your area is not what you would have liked.

If you are in the category of people who claim not to like any of the candidates, have you thought about standing for election yourself?

There are times when I complain about what is happening within the council but that is why I will vote. However, I also realise that, as the saying goes, “you can never please all of the people all of the time” and it is for that reason that I do not envy any of the candidates as they will not be able to please every person in every town in Angus no matter how hard they try.
