History of the Co-op

MRS Marion Duncan welcomed members and visitors to the East & Old Church Guild and led the opening worship.

She then introduced Lorraine Doig, Norma Cox and Mary Coyle from Forfar Co-operative.

They gave an interesting overview of the history of the Co-op movement and its involvement with Fair Trade.

The many items displayed - tea, coffee, sugar, chocolate, wine, etc. - are all produced to give workers good conditions and a fair price.

A DVD showed some of the Fair Trade work ongoing in Africa.

Mrs Nicoll proposed the vote of thanks.
