A Kirriemuir man is hoping readers can help reunite him with his Paddington Bear moneybox after it went missing from his garden.
The moneybox had sat in Graham Cowe’s Kinnordy Road garden until it vanished last month - now he’s appealing for its return.
Graham, who has had Paddington almost three decades, said: “It was a Paddington Bear collection box, identical to the one in the picture (see right).
“We have had him for nearly 30 years and has sat next to our front door at all the houses we have lived in and was popular with the kids going to and from school - until the weekend of the 28th of last month when he went missing.”
Graham had hoped that the disappearance of his longstanding garden decoration was down to youngsters having a laugh.
He explained: “At first I thought it was some sort of high jinx by some youngsters and that it was deposited further along the street in someone else’s garden.”
However, subsequent searches in the local area proved unsuccessful.
Graham also put out posters offering a reward for Paddington’s safe return with no luck.
He added: “I do not think it has any great value, but it has a sentimental value to us and we would like to see it returned.”
If you have any information that could help Graham track down Paddington Bear, get in touch with the newspaper by emailing email@example.com and information can be passed on to Graham.
