The FORFAR Healthy Start Café is re-opening on Monday, August 20, when it will be ready to welcome mums and babies after the school summer break.
The café is held in The Guide Hall, The Myre, and runs on Mondays between 11.30am and 1.30pm during school term time.
Part of the Angus Community Health Partnership’s Healthy Happy Communities Project the café provides a comfortable, relaxed and informal environment for mums and mums-to-be. From the minute they discover they are pregnant, women are welcome to come along to the café which provides a comfortable space where they can chat and share their experiences.
The Healthy Start Café also provides a healthy snack and, over the coming weeks, there will be different activities planned for mums and mums-to-be as well as a range of health and lifestyle topics for information and discussion.
Denise Black, Healthy Happy Communities Project Worker, said: “Sometimes it can be difficult to meet other mums and the café is a great opportunity for new mums and mums-to-be to get together.
“The activities are very much decided by the mums themselves choosing topics that are of particular interest to them.”
