Glen Clova Climb

THE MUNRO Mission, launched by DecAid, is now well underway to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the British Armed Forces in Afghanistan.

The mission is a gruelling endurance experience in which participants aim to conquer all 283 mountains in the Scottish Highlands in just 49 days, finishing on September 18. The team will climb Munros (Mountains over 3000ft) in several regions, including Glen Clova which they tackled on August 2 and 3.

Each Munro will be dedicated to a serviceman or woman whose life has been lost in Afghanistan, over the last 10 years.

Three very memorable charities, BLESMA (British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s Association), SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) and Talking 2 Minds will benefit from funds raised from the challenge.

The Munro Mission is just one of six fundraising events taking place this summer, as part of DecAid’s year-long fundraising effort. The campaign will involve several thousand people nationally and aims to raise a grand total of £350,000, of which the Munro Mission will aim to contribute £80,000.
