WITH GARDENERS now enjoying the slightly warmer weather, there could be no better time to visit the Gardeners’ Question Time in Eassie & Nevay Hall, Balkeerie, tonight (Wednesday, April 17) at 7.30 p.m.
You are welcome to email your question to ask on the night or just go along with the ailing plant, weird wonderful or taxing garden problems for the enthusiastic experts to solve that green fingered problem.
The panel members include Ali Bruce, Pathhead, Kirriemuir; Ian Christie, Westmuir; Eleanor Gledhill, Forfar and Chris Stephenson of Glamis Castle Gardens.
They will answer questions on flowers, vegetables, shrubs, trees, lawns or houseplants. Admission (including refreshments) is £3. The evening is being organised in aid of ENKCA Hall funds to help landscape the outside of the community hall.
There is a full programme in the hall for the coming weeks and months.
These include a ‘Bedding and Breakfast’ event from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, when there will be garden stalls, plants and produce, as well as delicious food on sale.
There will be a Cancer Charity family quiz night on Saturday, May 4. And on Sunday, May 12, Eilidh Durston will hold a soup and sandwich lunch for Care and Community Project Ghana.
Following last year’s hugely successful Italian night there will be another themed evening on Saturday, May 18 from 7 p.m. - details to follow soon.
Eilidh Durston has organised a quiz night for Friday, June 7, again for Care and Community project Ghana, and there will be a re-enactment of the Nine Maidens Walk on Sunday, June 16. This walk in the Sidlaws will be followed by a buffet dance in the hall.
