A GROUP from Forfar are preparing to tackle Ben Nevis to raise money for charity.

Angie Walker and her brother Paul will do the walk on Sunday, May 6 to raise money for the Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.

Angie’s daughter, Brooke (8), has to attend the hospital twice a year to get treatment for cyistic hygromas in the mouth.

Brooke gets laser treatment and has recently undergone a big operation and so Angie and her family wanted to give something back to the hospital which has helped them.

Already training hard for the big day Angie and Paul are hoping to add to the funds which have already been raised.

Earlier this year Angie and Paul’s grandfather held an 80th birthday party and instead of gifts he received donations for Yorkhill. From that occasion alone they have already raised over £600 and they are hoping to reach £1000.

If you would like to sponsor Angie and Paul there are sponsor forms at Flanagan’s sandwich shop and Element’s hairdressers.

Alternatively you can also donate at

Also walking on the day will be Alex Torrie and a group of 11 friends.

They will be raising funds for an MS Charity and have receieved sponsorship from Donna and Marie at the Mason’s Bar in the form of branded clothing and walking boots.
