DD8 Music will be hoping the summer weather continues as they host the annual free festival, Live in the Den, on Saturday.
From noon on Saturday in the beautiful surroundings of Kirriemuir’s Den there will be a full day of free entertainment, including live music, barbecue and stalls.
Organisers DD8 Music have arranged an amazing range of local talent playing live.
The day kicks off with some of the talented youngsters who use DD8 Music’s recording and rehearsal space in the town, showing off some of the songs they have learnt in the free jam sessions that take place there on Fridays and Sundays.
They are followed by the beautiful voice of local singer songwriter That Girl Gail. Gail has played her set of covers and original material all over Scotland. Next up is the indie rock of Dundee band General Judgement. Together since 2010, they have been getting a lot of attention recently after a series of excellent local gigs. After them there’s the upbeat ska-punk of Maxwell’s Dead, with an upbeat set that is sure to get the crowd jumping. Local favourites Sonnet 65 will also perform their uplifting melodic rock while fusing the iconography of two giants of 20th Century culture, Darth Elvis and the Imperials have to been heard, and seen! Mashing up the Elvis and Star Wars, with a drummer dressed in full Storm Trooper armour, they’re sure to finish the day with a blast(er)!
