James Beattie was one of the chosen few who were privileged enough to carry the Olympic Torch as it passed through Angus.
James, who has just left Forfar Academy, got to carry the torch through Meigle.
He was nominated by his grandfather and was picked from thousands of nominees to have the opportunity of a lifetime.
James has been back into school to show off his torch and talk about his experience.
“I would never have believed that I would have been doing this,” he enthused.
James was also in to read a letter that he had written to himself on his first few days in Forfar Academy, and he said, “I would never have dreamed that I would have carried the torch back then, it never even crossed my mind.”
Mr Lynch, head teacher at Forfar Academy, also stated that not only had James made himself and his family proud, he had made all involved at Forfar Academy proud.
