There was more good news for the Forfar Rotary Marafun when they received generous sponsorship from Forfar Asda.
The manager of the branch was delighted to be able to add their support to the May 27 event.
Manager Robert Halliburton said this fits in well with the programme of local involvement and the educational role of promoting healthy eating.
He said: “Being part of Marafun demonstrates our commitment to being part of the Forfar community.
“We have agreed with the Rotary Club to provide the “Goody Bags” handed out to all those running the Marafun or Half Marafun and some of our staff will assist on the day performing any tasks asked of them on the day. “
Loading up the boot and back seat of his car registration officer Ken Stewart of the Rotary Club commented that it was great to take delivery of the goods early so as to assist in the preparation of the smooth running of the race registration procedure.
Each competitor will receive their goody bag with drinks, energy bar, water bottle etc. as well as a medal at the end.
It has also been confirmed that the 2010 winning male team from Fife,has entered again. Team Captain Chris Russel will be heading up a new line up in his team this year but determined to pull off a win for the second time or can he be beaten this time around?
