Johnston Carmichael’s Forfar office has raised over £1,300 for its three chosen charities as part of its ongoing charity initiative.
Staff at the accountancy and business advisory firm’s office participated in a series of fundraising activities including monthly soup and dress down days, cake sales, cash for clothes donations and lottery bonus ball numbers.
The funds raised by Johnston Carmichael were split between the firm wide charity, Guide Dogs Scotland and local charities, Maggie’s Dundee and Angus Riding for the Disabled (RDA).
Roddy Anderson, Managing Partner of the Forfar Office, said: “The Forfar team has shown real commitment to raising money and a passion for the deserving causes throughout the year long fundraising initiatives. We hope that our efforts will support the great work provided by each of these charities.
“Every year, our offices select charities to support in addition to the firm-wide choice and in 2012 the Forfar office decided that local charities Maggie’s and Angus (RDA) would receive funds for a two year period.”
The donations were presented by Johnston Carmichael’s staff to Valerie Busher of Maggie’s Dundee and Elinor Phillips of Angus RDA, at the firm’s Forfar office on September 15.
Valerie, Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggie’s Dundee, said: “We are delighted that Johnston Carmichael has nominated Maggie’s as one of its local charities. We would like to thank all the staff who have contributed in the fundraising drive.”
Angus RDA Centre Manager, Elinor Phillips, said: “We feel very fortunate to be chosen by Johnston Carmichael. Their contribution to the centre will benefit all the people that use our services and will allow us to improve the centre.”
