Fancy some black comedy?

FORFAR’S very own Dramatic Society is due to kick-start its 2011-12 season next week, and is looking for new members to help it do so.

The play in question is Peter Shaffer’s 1965 classic Black Comedy, which promises to be great fun for cast and audience alike. As the title suggests, the action takes place in darkness due to a blown fuse, and while the audience sees everything that happens on stage, the characters don’t. The hilarious result is mistaken identity, mis-poured drinks, dastardly - and very funny - revenge, and much more.

The cast comprises five men and three women, of varying ages.

The Society is always keen to recruit new members - not just for acting parts - but for help with lighting, sound, sets, costume, tea-making and all the other things that go to make a good production.

So if you’re interested in any way, and whether you’ve no experience or loads, pop along to the Society’s clubrooms at 132 East High Street, Forfar at 7.30pm on Tuesday, August 16.

Auditions are quite informal, the Society are a friendly bunch and new members can be sure of a warm welcome.
