Exhibition to raise funds for charity air ambulance

An exhibition to support the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) will be held in Forfar between Wednesday, June 3 and June 17.

Organised by local SCAA fund-raiser Avril Simpson, the exhibition in The Meffan will feature work by contemporary Scottish artists, both professional and amateur, who have each been asked to submit up to four pieces for the event.

All the work will be for sale, with 10 per cent of the proceeds going to the charity.

Since its launch in May 2013 the helicopter, which is based at Perth Airport, has flown more than 500 missions.

Because of its central location, the helicopter can reach most locations to attend a casualty within the critical ‘golden hour’.

This is the only charity-funded helicopter in Scotland, the other two each receive Government funding

Other artists have also agreed to donate one piece to SCAA which will be entered into a silent auction over the two weeks of the exhibition and all funds raised by the auction will be donated to the charity. There will be bid forms for this on a table in the upper gallery.
