THE prize-winning chemistry team from Webster’s High School was the latest recipient of the £250 sponsorship cheque kindly donated by Forfar Roof Truss Company.
The combined effort of eight pupils in the team secured their place in the UK final of the “Top of the Bench” chemistry competition at Imperial College in London.
The school had the difficult task of whittling down the original team of eight to only four members with Donald Hobson ((S2), Amy-Jo Randalls (S3), Philip Ironside (S3) and Lynn Simpson (S4) travelling south with their teacher Dr Neil McIntyre, returning home after being crowned best Scottish school.
The other pupils who made up the original team which battled its way through to the finals were Caitlyn Marshall, S3; Ailsa Peters, S4; Alex Guthrie, S2; and Demi-lee Neish, S4.
The Roof Truss sponsorship cheque will allow Dr Neil McIntyre to organise a science based trip for all eight pupils.
