The U/15 Forfar Academy girls football team were drawn against The Nicolson Institute of Stornoway in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
This involved two days of travelling and offered the girls a new experience of school sports.
After starting off early on the Thursday morning in the mini-bus, the girls stopped in Inverness for some lunch where they bumped into Terry Butcher, the Inverness Caley Thistle manager, doing a television interview.
Next stop was Ullapool for the ferry to Stornoway - a three hour trip and was very choppy and rough.
Friday was game day, and a short walk to the school allowed the girls time to get their game faces on!
They came up against a very strong and able Nicolson team, which was full of S3 players compared to Forfar’s mix of S1-S3.
The Nicolson ran out 7-0 winners but the girls played well and worked hard against a good team and blustery conditions.
The girls did very well to reach that stage of the competition and their attitude and behaviour on the trip was excellent, Well done girls!
