Students and teachers in Forfar have received a boost through a new initiative from Encyclopaedia Britannica.
Every primary school and Forfar Academy now have free access to thousands of cross-curricular digital resources, which have been designed to hone student engagement and improve results.
Unlike other free online resources, the Britannica Online School Edition has specifically been created to ensure that students can research safely online without accessing inappropriate or factually inaccurate material. It is split into three distinct age-groups and every reference article has been extensively checked by Britannica’s team of editors. Teachers can also benefit from the service, which provides live training sessions, a dedicated teacher support area and pre-created learning materials which can be used in the classroom with existing technology.
To further assist schools in the new academic term, Britannica has also developed a comprehensive e-safety guide, which is free for download at www.britannica.co.uk/education
