The Eco Fashion show took place at Webster’s High School in Kirriemuir last Wednesday, with the Young Enterprise Team, ‘Lava’, as hosts
The competitors had to create fashionable outfits using materials that could be recycled.
This challenge really captured people’s imagination and the night was a great success, with over 100 people attending.
Team Lava raised over £700 which will go towards their business enterprise.
The winner, Alex Shaw, had made a dress out of equestrian rosettes and had made a bag out of a horse rope and a trophy.
She gained a voucher as her prize and the applause of everyone in the hall.
Shoebox Appeal:For the last couple of weeks the Webster’s charity prefects, Ellie Henderson and Oriana Moschovakis, have been collecting and wrapping up shoe-boxes filled with basic toiletries, hats, scarves, etc.
This is for the Blythswood Appeal for the homeless at Christmas.
So far over sixty boxes have been filled. A big thank goes you to all who have contributed.
Football: S2 boys football team had tremendous success on Monday, winning four-three against Monifieth in the Angus cup semi final.
This is the furthest the S2 boys’ team have ever been been and the players are now looking forward to taking on Forfar in the final.
Child Protection Evening: The school is organising a meeting on Tuesday, November 15 for parents of pupils from P6 to S1 to discuss the difficult issue of internet safety.
The school regards this as a particularly important evening and all S1 pupils have been given a letter about it to take home to their parents.
A very large turnout is hoped for.
