East Port is set for traffic delays

Roadworks are scheduled to start at East Port, Forfar on Monday (November 12), lasting for four weeks.

The works are to be carried out by Siemens Mobility, working with Tayside Contracts and involve tracking across the road to install new ducts and cables and replacing the existing traffic signals.

Pavement works and minor road repairs will also be carried out on all four approaches to Eastport crossroads.

There will be lane closures during the works on all four approaches to the junction and temporary traffic lights for traffic control will be in place when the existing permanent lights are disconnected.

Pedestrian and vehicle movements will be will be affected during these necessary works and road users should expect delays during peak times.

Assistance with crossing the road will be available for pedestrians who require it.

Access will be maintained wherever possible for those affected by the works.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route to and from the town centre if possible.
