Dunnichen Church to close in August

DUNNICHEN Church is to close on Sunday, August 21, ending a Christian presence on the site since the 12th century.

There are many people who have been associated with the congregation at one time or another, but who have moved away from the area and who may like to know or perhaps participate in two of the activities planned to mark the occasion.

Firstly, there will be an exhibition in the church on Saturday, June 4, which will be open from 10 am until 12 noon and from 2 pm to 4 pm. Tea and coffee will be served.

Memorabilia of Dunnichen Church is currently being gathered for the exhibition - written accounts of memories, photographs and the like.

Anyone who feels they could contribute to the exhibition should contact either Jean McEwen on 01307 462813, Mrs Anne Duncan on 01307 818142 or any member of the current congregation as soon as possible. Items will be returned to the donor if requested.

Secondly, there will be a special service in the church at 10.30 am on Sunday, August 21.

Former members of the congregation are warmly invited to join in this final service at Dunnichen Church, along with anyone else interested in attending.
