MORE and more local groups and organisations are taking advantage of cash grants from Angus Council to pay for a wide range of activities which benefit their communities.
Angus Council has awarded 15 grants totalling £25,413 in the latest round of allocations from the council’s community grant scheme.
From town twinning events, to sports equipment, communities throughout the county are enjoying the fruits of a cash windfall from the scheme.
To make it even easier to apply for a grant, guidance and application forms can be downloaded from the Angus Council website.
Feedback received by the council’s external funding team reveals that 66% of applicants use the information on the website and find the information available to be useful.
A third of applicants ask for help from the external funding team to complete the form or to check it before submission, and all say that the advice was useful and helps speed up the application process.
Ninety seven per cent of applicants say that the application form is easy to understand and complete and 86% find the application process easy.
Speaking at a meeting of the council’s infrastructure services committee, convener David May urged groups to consider applying for grants.
“There is still funding of £107,355 available from the council to support to community organisations this financial year,” he said.
Any groups or organisations wishing to apply for a grant should contact the council’s external funding team initially on 01307 473222 for specialist advice or visit the website at www.angus.gov.uk/externalfunding/communitygrant.
