The Forfar Disaptch is leading the way in the fashion stakes in a novel fund raising venture at a well-known Forfar charity shop.

Instead of fashion making the news, the news is making fashion at the Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland’s shop at 80 Castle Street.

Copies of your popular weekly have been used by staff to create a dress in a bid to draw attention to the shops urgent need for donations.

As the shop manager Tracey Brown explains: “We decided on the “news dress” to try and draw people’s attention to the window and to encourage people to donate any unwanted donations of good quality clothes, collectables, accessories, books, DVDs etc.

“We’ve had tremendous support from the people of Forfar over the years and I’m sure once the message gets out there people locally will rally round.

“I’d like to thank everyone in Forfar for their custom and support and ask them to bring us their unwanted goods. We have a volunteer driver who could pick up your items if you can’t deliver them yourself. All donations are greatly appreciated and help us to raise money to fund the charity’s wide range of local services.”
