IT WAS a very special day at Strathmore Court on Thursday.
Jack and Esther Gordon celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary four days early, due to the Easter weekend, when they received their telegram from Her Majesty The Queen to celebrate 60 years of marriage.
The couple, both 90, are residents at Strathmore Court in Forfar. They married on April 3, 1953, at St James Church in Dundee.
The couple first set up home in Montgomery Crescent in the city before moving to Albany Road in 1958. They later moved to Bearsden in 1964 and then on to Milngavie in 1966 before returning to Bearsden in 1986.
In 1992, the couple moved back to the east, setting up home in Forfar at McCulloch Drive before eventually taking up residence in Strathmore Court.
Jack and Esther have two children, Avril and Eric, five grandchildren, Craig, Niall, Stuart, Gregor and Iona and a beloved pet budgie named Andy.
