Getting out and about

TAYSIDE Police Community Officers are getting out and about meeting members of the local community, thanks to the new rural service vans operated by Angus Council.

At this month’s meeting of Forfar Community Council, Community Liaison Officer Constable Ally Smith said the two library vans run by Angus Council have been replaced by a new service.

Staff are able to use the internet on the vehicles at certain points on the route, where they can search library catalogues on line, access other council information or log messages with the ACCESS office on behalf of those using the mobile service. He said, where possible, the officers will attend some of the stops in order to improve engagement with rural communities.
