Police Scotland Tayside Division are urging farmers and those in rural communities to be vigilant over fuel theft.

The appeal follows recent incidents when fuel has been stolen.

Farmers as well as business owners and their staff are also urged to be suspicious of people who arrive unannounced at their premises.

Wherever possible, they should note the details and descriptions, not just of people who come to their yard or compound, but importantly of their vehicles (registration numbers in particular) and alert the police where they have even the slightest suspicion.

Anyone wishing to report suspicious activity should call Tayside Division on 101 or speak to any officer. Or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
