JUNIOR rangers were busy down at Forfar Loch Country Park last midweek, helping with an environmental project.

They assisted in creating an artificial island using recycled and other materials.

The event was part of a five-month campaign called Action Earth, organised by Community Service Volunteers (CSV).

The Angus Council ranger service had called for locals to lend a hand to improve their local environment.

With local help, the rangers are restoring breeding swan and grebe nests which have been damaged by bad weather.

The Forfar Loch Country Park project aims to create a number of floating nesting islands that will provide safer, more sustainable havens for nesting birds.
