Court appearance after Forfar drama

A FORFAR man, who triggered an armed police response after a serious domestic incident at his Taranty Road home on Monday of last week, appeared in Forfar Sheriff Court the following day.

Edward James Hoy, aged 52, admitted that on Monday, September 19, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner, likely to cause fear and alarm, repeatedly shouted and swore, made abusive remarks, brandished knives, threatened to stab Margaret Hoy and repeatedly struck and damaged doors with knives and upturned furniture.

He admitted further charges of assaulting police officers called to the scene.

The case was continued until October 27 for social inquiry reports, with various conditions attached to bail.
