THE annual flower show of Lunanhead Horticultural Society is to take place in St. Margaret’s Hall, Lunanhead, on Saturday, August 18.
Society chairman Robin de Veres is hoping to build on the success of last year’s show.
Thanking villagers, friends, volunteers, sponsors and exhibitors in the 2012 programme, Mr de Veres said: “We had some excellent entries in all sections and the children really did us proud.
“It is the children we also have to thank for taking time to enter the drawing competition we ran for the first time this year.
“It was their efforts that contributed to the exciting new-look programme and posters we have produced.
“I would also like to thank members of the committee for all their hard work in putting in new ideas for the 2012 event.”
There is an array of silverware to be won both at the show and in the annual village garden competition.
Sections for the 2012 show are as follows:- pot plants, cut flowers, vegetables, fruit, industrial (jam, preserves, baking), handicraft, floral art and children.
“We are looking forward to meeting all the exhibitors again this year and wish them every success with their entries.”
The annual Lunanhead flower show will run from 2 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, August 18.
The hall will be open to accept exhibits on Friday, August 17 from 8 pm to 9.30 pm and on Saturday, August 18 from 8 am to 10.30 am.
