Angus Council needs to identify the supply and demand of childcare services and the extent to which parents’ needs are currently being met across the county.

Parents, carers, nurseries, out of school care, holiday clubs, childminders and families with additional needs are all being asked to provide details of their current and future needs of childcare.

Under the Children and Young People Act (Scotland) 2014 it is the statutory duty of Scottish local authorities to ensure sufficient childcare for daycare and out of school care. The council is required to measure this by consulting, preparing and publishing their plans for how they intend to provide this care.

The Social Value Lab has been commissioned to conduct the research on behalf of the council. In addition to face-to-face surveys and meetings, the council is also seeking views on their website: www.angus.gov.uk

Paper copies of the survey will be available in libraries across Angus and from Angus House, Forfar. Members of the public visiting Angus House are asked to request copies to PEOChis@angus.gov.uk beforehand.

The survey will take place from May 20 to June 3.
