At the recent meeting of Angus Writers’ Circle a competition for articles suitable for the magazine, “Scottish Memories” was judged by Jean Brittain.
Jean Brittain is a regular contributor to “Scottish Memories.”
She is a college lecturer, and holds a B.A. degree in business and marketing.
Jean gave each entry a critique and said: “It’s been a privilege and a pleasure to read works from Angus Writers’ Circle, and I am delighted to encourage its many talented members to write for this great magazine.”
First place, and the Fireball, went to “A Maid’s Life” by Eleanor Fordyce.
In second place was “Honey In The Attic” by Archie Darroch, with “Lewis’ Days” by Heather Gourlay third.
The Angus Writers Circle meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 7.30 pm to 10 pm in the Rosely Hotel, Arbroath.
