Local people are being encouraged to nominate good causes for this year’s Bank of Scotland Community Fund.

Nominations are now being taken and are open to the bank’s customers and the wider public to put forward their favoured causes to be considered for funding.

Around 200 good causes in 50 communities across Scotland are set to benefit this year, with grants of up to £3,000 supporting projects and services that make a positive difference to their communities.

Nominations can be made online at Once nominated, each group will be invited to apply directly to Community Fund online. Nominations close on April 30, with applications remaining open until May 9. These will be assessed during May and June to shortlist the final 200 good causes - these will be put to a public vote in September and October.

Local MSP Graeme Dey is urging local groups to get involved.

He said: “I can think of many good causes across Angus who would welcome securing a grant from the fund and I would encourage local people to put these forward for consideration.”
