Angus Choral Society will begin rehearsals for its new season on Friday, September 6 at 7.30pm in the East and Old Church hall, Forfar.
The society’s Christmas concert will be held in the Lowson Memorial Church, in Forfar on Saturday, December 14 at 7.30pm when the programme will include ‘Sleep’ by Eric Whitacre, ‘The Nativity’ by Eric Thiman, ‘Bogorodiste Devo’ by Rachmaninov, ‘Sure on this Shining Night by Morten Lauridson as well as the usual sing along carols for choir and audience.
It is also hoped to include a musical ensemble from Forfar Academy.
The Spring Concert will be held in St John’s Episcopal Church in Forfar on Saturday, April 26 at 7.30pm when the choir will perform Haydn’s ‘Creation’. Soloists include Maria Kozlova, Soprano, James Slimmings Tenor and Dominic Barberi, Baritone with choir and orchestra conducted by our Musical Director, Mary Veal.
The choral is also seeking new members in all parts and anyone interested is welcome to attend the rehearsal on September 6. No audition is necessary.
