Check out campus plans

The chairman of Forfar Community Council has urged the people of the town to view the plans for the new community campus.

Speaking at this month’s meeting, Mrs Isobel Ross said she and fellow community councillors had received a presentation from council officers involved in the project - and they had been “pleasantly surprised.”

She urged all members of the Forfar community to take the opportunity to view the plans for the £33 million campus, which will be sited at Forfar Academy

She said: “We are all pleasantly surprised at how well it looked. We were pleased with the plans for the various seating areas rather than one big dining room, and the access from Kirriemuir Road will take some of the weight off Taylor Street.

“Everybody, at some time, could have a child or grand-child at the school and I urge them all to go and see the plans. Everybody from the town should go and have a look as this will benefit them all. This is a huge opportunity for the town.”

Angus Councillor Glennis Middleton praised the council officers who had worked on the project stating “we owe them a huge debt of gratitude.”

The plans will be unveiled at a meeting in Forfar Academy tonight (Thursday), starting at 7 p.m.
