DAVID Ritchie (Implements) Ltd of Carseview Road, Forfar, has announced the appointment of Chas Roy as managing director.
He has stepped up from the role of operations director and succeeds Tony Walker at a time when the company is enjoying a bulging order book and record exports to customers across the globe.
The private firm conceives, designs, prototypes, tests, manufacturers and markets a wide range of products for the agricultural, offshore, industrial gas and defence industries.
Mr Walker is to continue as a part-time executive director of the firm, focusing on various projects including industrial sales, China and the Forfar Galvanisers arm of the outfit.
Mr Roy joined the company as production manager 20 years ago and has been a director of Ritchie for 14 years.
Ritchie have their own on-site joint venture galvanising plant, Forfar Galvanisers, a joint venture in Weihai, eastern China, where they have been working for more than 15 years, and are setting up a small manufacturing plant in the West Midlands.
The company also continues to offer an extensive range of specialist equipment and services to the farming industry across the UK and beyond.
Mr Walker said the company’s success over the recent years had been based around the strength and commitment of the management team and workforce.
He said: “The order book is presently at an all-time high in the UK and export areas from both the agricultural, gas and offshore sectors. Chas is the ideal person to fill this position.”
