The first fundraising event of the year for the Glens & Kirriemuir Old Parish Church Charitable Trust is the annual Book Sale
The sale starts on Saturday, January 29 from 10am until 4pm in the Old Parish Hall.
There will be the usual huge choice of good quality books for sale at bargain prices and on the Saturday, refreshments will be served and are included in the entry fee of £1.
The sale continues the following week on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 from 10am until 4pm in the small hall. If you would like to donate books before stocking up again, they can be delivered to the church office on Thursday 26 from 9.30am until 4pm or Friday 27 from 9.30am to 12noon.
A new venture this year will be the launch of a raffle with the main prize being a beautiful table lamp handmade in wood by Alfie Henderson in the form of a tower of books.
Each book is superbly hand carved in polished wood and would complement any room handsomely.
The lamp is presently on show in the church office.
The tickets will be on sale until June 8 when the raffle will be drawn at another fundraising event in Cortachy Castle.
