The 2nd Forfar Boys’ Brigade and 6th Forfar Scouts are busy preparing for their popular local Christmas card delivery service.

Post boxes will be issued this Friday (November 28) for the groups’ traditional fund-raiser which will run until Friday, December 12. The last chance to post cards will be 10 a.m. that day.

Deliveries will be carried out on the weekends of Decemer 6 and 7 and December 13 and 14.

Boxes can be found in Tesco, Asda, The Abbeygate, McLaren’s Bakers, Watt’s (butcher), the Brechin Road shop, Ali’s newsagent in Castle Street, Poundstretcher, the Easterbank shop, Hampton’s newsagent, RS McColl’s, Richardson’s newsagent, Haq’s, the Dundee Road Co-op, the Taranty Road shop and the Spar on Market Street.

In addition, they can also be found at the East and Old Church, St Margaret’s Church, the Lowson Church and Forfar Indoor Bowling.

The cards are collected and sorted out by a team of volunteers who split them up into districts, ready for delivery. Over the years, thousands of cards have been delivered in the Forfar area, raising much needed funds for the organisations.

Those using the service are asked to make sure that the recipient’s full name and full address are included on envelopes to ensure deliveries can be made.

Cards will only be delivered within Forfar and the villages of Kingsmuir, Lunanhead and Padaranarm. Please note that no outlying landwards areas are covered.
